Professional Learning Communities (PLC)

The Professional Learning Communities (PLC) extends the opportunity to foster collaborative learning among PAT staff. Participating in facilitated discussions with other parent educators and program supervisors, promotes collective team work with a focus on reflective learning and development of best practices. Shared practice and collective inquiry help sustain improvement by strengthening connections among parent educators, stimulating discussion about best practice and helping to build on each other’s expertise. This parallels the partnership between the PAT program staff and families. Through continuous inquiry and reflective dialogue parent educators discover solutions and address the needs of families and children served through the PAT program.

The PLCs are hosted in various locations around the state to accommodate the travel time for parent educators and program supervisors. Sessions are also offered during Day 1 of the Conference on the Young Years, Home Visiting Summit, to maximize the travel and time commitment for participants.

PLCs are offered at “No Charge” to Missouri parent educators. Click the line below to view the opportunities and to register!
